Anne Gilleran is a Senior Adviser in European Schoolnet. She has many years’ experience in education as a guidance counsellor, teacher, school principal and teacher trainer. She has extensive experience in Information Communication Technology in Education both at in practice and research and is currently the Senior Pedagogical Advisor for eTwinning www.etwinning.net. In this role, she has recently speared headed the introduction of the eTwinning School label.

During her career with European Schoolnet,  Anne worked with the AmgenTeach initiative overseeing the Distance Learning Activities www.amgenteach.eu, has been project coordinator of European Schoolnet’s Virtual School and the European Network of Innovative Schools (ENIS) networks.  In relation to these positions, Anne has been brought into direct contact with the teachers, head teachers and policymakers in education throughout Europe.

Anne has also carried out or been involved in a number of educational research and development programmes concerned with emerging issues in education in Europe, coordinated by European Schoolnet. She has represented the European School Heads Association (ESHA) on an expert’s panel for the European Commission in the area of ICT in Education.  She holds an MLitt in education and an MSc in Technology in Learning, from Trinity College Dublin as well as a number of specialist qualifications in Computer Science and Education
