About us

BeZee is an international conference devoted to new trends in education created by the new generation – Generation Z, dedicated to teachers, educators, trainers and representatives of business educational solutions.

Up to now, over 1100 teachers and over 55 speakers from around the world have participated in the three editions of this event. The fourth edition of BeZee will take place on 13 November 2018 at the European Solidarity Centre.
The organizers of the event are Gdansk Business Incubator STARTER and the City of Gdańsk.
The aim of this edition is an attempt to answer the question: how to develop students’ technological competence to shape their future competencies?

We will search for answers in three stages:

  1. Exploring good practices, as well as facts and myths about modern innovation in education from the point of view of technological competence.
  2. Presenting visions of the future, i.e. trends and inspirations in education – we will try to show what the future competencies actually are.
  3. Implementing – conducting workshops during which there is an opportunity to translate inspirational solutions into one’s own educational practice and discussion with experts which can be attended by all participants.

In addition to lectures and workshops, we invite you to visit Edu Expo: stands of start-ups and companies presenting technology solutions in education, all related to the topic of the conference.

Program 2018

Details of the program and the plan of the workshops will soon be available.

The inspiration to create a sketch of the Bezee 2018 program were the workshops under the Edugenerator project and the meeting of the Bezee Program Board on 19/03/2018: Oktawia Gorzeńska (Headmaster of the High School No. 17 in Gdynia), Anna Rzepa (the coordinator of the 3-SAT project), Agnieszka Tomasik (Headmaster of the High School No. 8 in Gdańsk), Ahn Van Dam (Co-founder of Kids Code Fun), Jacek Samujło (Chief Security Officer at Lufthansa Systems), Lech Wikarczyk (Marketing Manager at Learnetic), Przemysław Kleniewski (Headmaster of Ateneum – Academic High School in Gdańsk), Jakub Gnyp (President of the Management Board of Poland Business Week), Agata Czajka (Enterprising Today), Szymon Stachowiak (student of the ZSŁ in Gdańsk).

Oktawia Gorzeńska‘The BeZee conference is definitely an event worth attending. This is the place where you can meet educators from Poland and around the world who act in an unconventional way, setting out new educational paths. You can get inspired, exchange your opinions, see in which direction the educational world is heading. The opportunity to co-create the conference format is a very valuable experience for me – the opportunity to exchange experiences and discussions with others about trends and needs, as well as new development opportunities.’ Oktawia Gorzeńska (Headmaster of the 17th High School in Gdynia, blogger, trainer)

Short films as shortcuts to engage vulnerable young people

Mobile phones are a common object in the hands of our young people. Their use can be varied and they allow an easy access to a universe of almost infinite information. However, there is an almost exclusive use directed to social networks. Exploring other functions of cell phones, and in a collaborative way, it is intended to create short films engaging youngsters in a creative process, allowing different ways of expression, the creation of narratives, the development of characters and the choice of soundtracks. This oriented creative process allows the student to explore the sense of composition and to express and develop his aesthetic sense. The final result and the materialization of their efforts are crucial to raising their self-esteem, functioning as a mirror that reflects someone able to create beautiful things. This process, which is made individually with each youngster, promotes a bigger engagement with the school, through the development of a close and emphatic relationship between the student and teacher, based on trust, acceptance and belief, usually difficult to achieve, specially, with students that are out of the school system for a long time.

More than for free. How do open resources become a fuel for modern education?

We use them every day, from Wikipedia through the Khan Academy to hundreds of websites that help to easily make a poster, or blogs from which we draw inspiration. Open resources, however, are much more than just free, it is a living proof that we can all create and have the potential to share our knowledge, to learn through experience and creation. How to include open resources in school activities to make them more varied, creative and teach about the basics of law?

Edu-Crowdfunding – a new trend in education financing or still little-known niche?

It's easier to implement projects supported by a lot of fans because they can let us grow, give feedback and support. The new era has already came. This is our time to combine different methods of financing the education projects. This is the time to involve all the interested parties and to invite strangers to support our idea. This is the ideal time to put into practice ideas that were previously rejected by the organizations or committees. We are no longer conducting an educational revolution quietly, but we are reaching out to thousands of people. Is it possible that Edu-Crowdfunding already became a trend or is it still a little-known niche? Let's talk about whether it’s worth involving crowds in making our dreams come true.
