Short films as shortcuts to engage vulnerable young people

Mobile phones are a common object in the hands of our young people. Their use can be varied and they allow an easy access to a universe of almost infinite information. However, there is an almost exclusive use directed to social networks. Exploring other functions of cell phones, and in a collaborative way, it is intended to create short films engaging youngsters in a creative process, allowing different ways of expression, the creation of narratives, the development of characters and the choice of soundtracks. This oriented creative process allows the student to explore the sense of composition and to express and develop his aesthetic sense. The final result and the materialization of their efforts are crucial to raising their self-esteem, functioning as a mirror that reflects someone able to create beautiful things. This process, which is made individually with each youngster, promotes a bigger engagement with the school, through the development of a close and emphatic relationship between the student and teacher, based on trust, acceptance and belief, usually difficult to achieve, specially, with students that are out of the school system for a long time.

More than for free. How do open resources become a fuel for modern education?

We use them every day, from Wikipedia through the Khan Academy to hundreds of websites that help to easily make a poster, or blogs from which we draw inspiration. Open resources, however, are much more than just free, it is a living proof that we can all create and have the potential to share our knowledge, to learn through experience and creation. How to include open resources in school activities to make them more varied, creative and teach about the basics of law?

Edu-Crowdfunding – a new trend in education financing or still little-known niche?

It's easier to implement projects supported by a lot of fans because they can let us grow, give feedback and support. The new era has already came. This is our time to combine different methods of financing the education projects. This is the time to involve all the interested parties and to invite strangers to support our idea. This is the ideal time to put into practice ideas that were previously rejected by the organizations or committees. We are no longer conducting an educational revolution quietly, but we are reaching out to thousands of people. Is it possible that Edu-Crowdfunding already became a trend or is it still a little-known niche? Let's talk about whether it’s worth involving crowds in making our dreams come true.
